With the heaviest of hearts, we are writing this message to say goodbye to our beloved Buzzy.
We adopted our gorgeous, giant greyhound, Buzz, following a home trial in February 2021. Buzz, forever known as “Buzzy” in our household, immediately settled himself into our home during his trial. During a cheeky afternoon sofa nap (24 hours in to his trial), Buzz decided to join in. He jumped up on the 2-seater sofa, whilst my partner slept on it, then decided to lie directly on top of her and proceed to fall asleep. It was love at first sight for us.
Buzz saw us through a number of changes in our lives, and lived out his retirement years in style (on his back, tongue lolling out). He was the best companion that we could have ever asked for. He was kind, gentle, cheeky, and could warm up a room even during the toughest of times. So long as he had his dinner on-time (complete with a side of treats, ear massages, and belly rubs), he was happy and content with life.
Losing Buzz has been a heartbreaking experience for us, but it doesn’t take away from the incredible time that we had with him. We are so thankful to Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare and their amazing volunteers for introducing us to him.
Words can’t describe how much we love and miss you. Rest in peace gorgeous boy.
All our love,
Ben, Nicole, & Phoebe
