September is always a lovely month weather wise for the hounds – and humans! So what better way to enjoy it than take homeless hounds to the beach for the first time along with hounds who have been lucky enough to have already found their loving forever homes.
Pleasant weather, wonderful sea, soft sand, a stunning group walk, a picnic and great camaraderie. That is WGW’s annual flagship event, Reach the Beach and we love it even more every single year! This year was no exception.
A huge thank you to you all for taking the time out to come down and join us and help in whatever way you could to make this day very special. Well done to Laura for heading up the beach walk and to Sandy and Joe at the WGW Kennels for manning the fort, so I could set up for the event and for making sure the homeless hounds got off OK.
Whether from WGW, the Surrey Sighthound Walking Group, Portsmouth Hound Walking Group – all are always welcome to join us for this lovely houndie event in the fabulous setting of West Wittering Beach.
When you see the wonderful sight of all the hounds on the beach, and how happy they all are in each others company, it makes everything so worthwhile. We love our hounds with a true passion and nobody could fail to leave without feeling RTB was a day that was exhilarating, exhausting, enjoyable and fun!
We raised a magnificent £624.79 for our Limited Edition RTB T shirt sales and in donations at the WGW Gazebo and on the beach walk!
Thank you all for making this year’s ‘Reach the Beach’ memories very special.
