Meet and Greet – Kempton Races – 27th December

Once again we had a busy and enjoyable day at Kempton Park, with a friendly and generous crowd. The greyhounds were, as ever, their own best advert, taking everything in their stride, all the attention from racegoers of all ages, and looking gorgeous in their Christmas finery.

I must mention the “posse” especially. We had a smaller group than usual, but they all worked so hard and with such good humour throughout the very long day.  Julie and John, Mark, Alison, Nick and Jenny. Alan took all our gear to Kempton and Henry picked up at the end, coming all the way from North London! Lee and Gavin arrived like the cavalry with Luther and we were able to cover both exits at the end of the day. We  also have a new “media star” in Julie, who did the interview with racing TV, with the help of the hounds, of course!

The day raised £1600, an amazing total. So a huge THANK YOU goes to everyone and if any of you reading this feels that they would like to bring their hound (or bring a kennel hound) to the next race meeting you will be very welcome. It’s a fun day out and a great experience for the greyhounds.

Happy New Year everyone.
