We are bowled over by the support we had at our Christmas Party over the weekend. A magnificent total of £3,012.68 was raised for the homeless hounds, including shop sales, and we just cannot thank you all enough. Events like these really do support vet and food bills.
Whether you had your photo taken with your hound at Holly Keane’s Christmas Grotto; treated yourself to silver jewellery or silver greyhound tree decorations from Holly Staples; sampled the fabulous BBQ fayre from Josh Pinto and Rita Forsyth; bought some home-made houndie treats from Lisa Dillerstone at Katy Martin’s Hand-made Card Stall; sampled the delights of ‘Sanctuary Coffee’; indulged in Stella Murphy’s cakes or Belgian Hot Chocolate (with or without a dash of rum!); enjoyed a drink at Julie Higham’s & Sharon Wells refreshments; enjoyed Paula Boswell’s fun stall; bought your WGW Christmas Cards & WGW Calendars, hound clothing or gifts from the WGW Shop, run by Julie Renfree, David Szwer and regular walker, Frances and her husband; browsed the treasures on our Bric-a-Brac Stall run by Caroline Bristow & Sue Pepper; found something perfect for your houndie in our Recycled Store; just had fun at Kym & Jeff Mercieca’s Tombola or entered Leslie & Fay’s Raffle (to be drawn after the Hersham Hounds Blessing on the Green on Saturday 16th December); had your hound’s nails trimmed by Bea Pickard, we hope you had as much fun entering into the Christmas Spirit as much as we did!
Special thanks to Julia Renfree & Sharon Wells for advance planning work, kennel staff, Megan Powell and Gemma Lambert for endless stamina, ably assisted by volunteer, Thea Zambanini & Dave Sansom & Alan Tiller for helping with our general set-up.
Everyone has been so kind and we are truly over the moon with the help and support we have received.
Thank you so much.
We hope you enjoy the snapshots of the day.
Carol & all the team xx
