A very special thank you to those who helped Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare at the Chertsey Show at the weekend.
It was a good PR opportunity and as always, helped raise funds too to look after our many homeless hounds. In total, a fabulous £980.67 was raised, including our shop sales and with great teamwork, we overcame the weather issues on a very blustery Saturday, although thankfully, back to normal by Sunday.
You were all simply amazing and we are so lucky to have such a loyal and hardworking group of volunteers to show what we do at Hersham and what greyt pets greyhounds make. Wonderful to see brindle Daisy with her new owner, stop by to join the parade, as she was homed after being seen at the last Chertsey Show 2018.
From Sarah who helped me set up both days, as well as Ann, Lynn and Lee Anne, James and Amber, Julie, Nick & Jenny and Dave & Zoe who all in some way contributed to the stall set up and dismantling. Not forgetting all the humans and hounds – homed and kennel – who supported WGW so well at the showground and in the parade ring and by manning the shop stall and even hanging onto the auxiliary gazebo to counter the gusts at one point!
It was a greyt show of WGW hounds and a great Show. Thank you Chertsey for making us feel so welcome. Hope the photos tell the story of the Hersham Hounds at Chertsey Show 2019.
