It’s CHRISTMAS and time to get out your Christmas hats and jumpers and dig out the tinsel for decorating your hound. The annual Blessing will take place at 11am Saturday, 14th December, on Vauxmead (secure field opposite St Peter’s Church) . Our lovely local vicar will bless the hounds and we will sing a carol.
This is one of our favourite events in the calendar and we try to get as many kennel hounds as possible there. Please prebook out your favourite kennel hound with Carol Cowie and collect at 10am to 10.15am for the group walk down to Vauxmead. Homed hounds are also very welcome. We try to keep it safe for ALL hounds by asking that you keep your hounds on lead at all times, that you restrict it to sighthounds only and, of course, pick up your poo!!
All will be welcome back at the kennels after for mulled wine, mince pies, bacon sarnies, hot soup and lovely cakes, all courtesy of Sharon Lucy Wells, Stella Murphy and Anneka Rubin. Any contribution of home made cakes and mince pies will be gratefully received. The shop will be open, courtesy of Julia Goodsir, so you can pick up your 2025 hound calendar and Christmas cards and maybe a few Christmas gifts.
Lastly and most importantly, don’t forget your tinsel, Christmas hats and other decorations for yourself and your hound. Wrap up warm as it’s currently looking to be cold and sunny.
Looking forward to seeing you all in festive mood and tuneful voice
