Meet and Greet – Sandown Park – 29th August

This was our first time back at Sandown for a number of years and we were thrilled to be invited to their Community Raceday and the racecourse folk really looked after us.

The weather was grim in the morning so we were moved under cover where we had a stream of visitors all afternoon. As ever, the dogs behaved impeccably, coping with all the attention as well as the proximity of the Shetland Pony racers and the Petting Zoo – absolute Superstars!

As were our team of volunteers, who brought their own hounds and three kennel hounds. They all made such a good impression on the racegoers and we have made new friends as well as raising a very unexpected (with no bucket collection) £253. 

A huge thank you to everyone who helped pack up, set up & dismantle the shop display equipment, provide transport, set up & run the shop or bring a hound along. Truly, so much appreciated. We could not take part in events like this without you – and all the fabulous hounds. Special thanks to Sandown Park for inviting us.
