It has been a wonderful day with some amazing people, volunteers & hounds at the local community party at Vauxmead. And the rain that had been forecast even held off! We were fortunate enough to have been invited by the local vicar, Jackie, who has been amazingly supportive and was instrumental in our participation in this lovely unique one-off family event. Thank you to Linda Simmons for liaising with the vicar on our behalf and in helping out today.
There was a host of community stalls, raffle, cakes, toasted marshmallows, choirs, music, face-painting. All good fun and I saw even HM The Queen was there! *(see photo!). Our WGW Gazebo seemed to be very popular and the hounds – homeless and homed alike – did us proud. We also received £156.13 from sales of donated knitted blankets, dog toys etc. which we were over the moon with, given ours was an informational, Meet & Greet stall.
A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers (& their hounds) who took time out of this unique Bank Holiday weekend to join us and support the Hersham Hounds to show everyone what great pets these beautiful hounds make.
Thank you to Jackie and to all the Vauxmead helpers and all the good folk of Hersham who made us feel so very welcome and the day so very special.
