Darling Bill has finally found his forever home, after being overlooked for nigh on 2 years in the kennels.

Initially reactive to other breeds and stopping on walks if he knew folk were not taking him out to the park, Bill was seen by potential new owners as a difficult or indifferent dog. Luckily, he was taken under the wing of one of our long-time walkers, Tim, who has driven him regularly to the riverside at Walton once or twice a week and taken him on interesting walks and to the dog cafe there, so that these experiences have also got him used to other breeds.
Regular walker, Sara, also then took him out there too whenever she could or sat on the bench outside the kennels with him and these outings, along with the foster home stays with former kennel assistant, Gemma, and with former hound owners, Steve & Jan, have made Bill outgrow the kennel life he was previously used to and have demonstrated what a great pet at home Bill would make for someone.
Thankfully, new owner, Jo, who was going to wait until the New Year to adopt, following the loss of her beloved greyhound girl, asked to foster him when she saw how much he really didn’t want to return into the kennels one day. The rest, as they say, is history and she fell head over heels with this lovely, unassuming lad. Clever, loving, fun and cheeky, Bill is just adorable and whilst we will all miss him, he has so much of life beyond the kennel walls to explore.
Thank you, Jo, for giving Bill that chance he needed. All the very best to you both. Xx
