Sunday September 27th – Great Greyhound Walk

SSWG is hosting the Great Global Greyhound Walk 2026 (GGGW26) in aid of Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare (WGW) at Nonsuch Park.

This easy 1.8 mile walk goes through the site of Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace, loops around the park’s grasslands and returns to the start via the cafe.

THEME
If you like to dress up, the theme for 2026 is ‘Mythical Mutts’.

TIME / MEET POINT
Please gather on on the grassy area by the car parks at Cheam gate. Meet at 10am for a 10:30am start.

Please arrive early to ensure time to:
1) park up – Nonsuch Park gets very busy
2) make your donation to the walk – there’ll be donation buckets for cash, or you can donate via contactless using my SumUp phone app, or you can donate via PayPal at paypal.me/surreysighthounds. I’d be grateful for donations to be made before the walk starts if possible.

PARKING
Nonsuch Park has no fewer than five car parks so please be sure of where you’re headed before you set off!

Park in one of the two car parks by the south east entrance to Nonsuch Park (Cheam gate), which is the one off the A232/Ewell Road just behind Nonsuch High School for Girls and David Lloyd. Doesn’t matter which of these two you park in – gather on the grass area between the two.

However, if you know the park well, do consider parking in one of the other car parks and walking through to the meet point to alleviate pressure on parking spaces.

POST CODE: The *nearest* post code is SM3 8AJ, which should bring you to the park’s south east entrance gate where ‘The Avenue’ branches off from the corner of the A232.
