Please join us with your sighthound(s) or one of our homeless hounds for their exciting first ever experience of a trip to the Beach.

If you have booked to take a kennel hound, pick up time is 8.30 to 9.00am. Please contact the kennels to book a hound out. Make sure:
  • There is a duvet in your car
  • That you take poo bags
  • That you bring a towel with you – just in case you need drying off – and
  • You have a doggy picnic, as well as one for you and yours.

Remember, the kennel hounds will not have had breakfast to avoid sickness on the journey. We recommend a chopped up Forthglade tray or tin of Lily’s kitchen in a covered bowl or tupperware they can eat out of. (There will be some Forthglade available at the kennels, should you not have any). Bring some extra chicken or fish, if you can, to ensure they eat something substantial. It is safer to feed the dog in the back of the car.

Aim for 10.30 arrival, ready for 11.00am group photo on the Beach. Please park at the very far end of the car park on the right hand side, so that the sighthounds are hopefully all together for the picnic and mingling! There will be 3 WGW marshalls wearing hi-vis purple vests, donation pots (should anyone wish to donate) and a first aid box, (just in case we need it).

After the photo, the walk will commence round to East Head and then back to the car park field where we can have our picnics. There are several water taps, if you can bring a water bowl with you.
All dogs on lead for the walk, as a requisite round by East Head, owned by the National Trust.

For those volunteers with a kennel hound, suggested departure time is from 2pm please, as the kennel staff will need the dogs back for their last feed and paddock by 4pm.

We hope you enjoy the day, no matter what the weather brings as it is always fabulous to see greyhounds meeting up and walking together. and enjoying the sand beneath their feet
A big thank you to everyone who supports the day in any way. We really do appreciate each and every one of you.

Enjoy!
