Freda – 12th Nov 2013 to 22nd Oct 2025

Our beautiful girl Freda has sadly passed away and we are truly heartbroken. After going lame in her left front leg, the vets diagnosed her with osteosarcoma and so we had to say goodbye to her. She was just shy of her 12th birthday, but at least she won’t have to suffer another fireworks night (week) which just precedes it.

We adopted Freda, along with her kennel mate, from Hersham in January 2019 and they have given us so much joy, which makes this loss so hard to bear. Her kennel name was Eileen, in tribute to her racing name of Ballymac Aideen. She raced until she was four and reached A1 grade – so she was fast. This was certainly evident when she done laps of our local recreation field, leaving our much slower boy far behind in pursuit. She loved to run and was so majestic in flight.

During the summer months she would spend lots of time on the lawn, baking herself and writhing about on her back in pleasure. Watching her demolish a bone, like a Hyena, was an amazing spectacle too. Her appetite never waned, even up to the end she was greedily accepting biscuits from the vet.

Freda

Thank you for bringing so much love into our lives, you will be sorely missed!
