Because there is life beyond the track

WGW Auction

WGW Auction

Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare (WGW) are selling some wonderful items donated by its supporters.

WGW is a small independent charity that rehomes over 100 greyhounds a year. Most have been gifted by their owners after they have finished their racing career.

WGW looks after all its hounds, however long it takes to home them, and supports new owners throughout the hounds’ lives when they are lucky enough to be rehomed. There are approximately 80 hounds being cared for at any one time. Some hounds have been with the kennels many more years than anyone would ideally like. For example, Paddy was recently homed after 7 years, Joe was recently homed after 5 years, and the kennels currently still has other long-timers such as the adorable Faith (in kennels 5 years so far) and lovable Patrick (in kennels 3 years so far). This auction and other fund-raising events/donations/sponsorship/etc help to pay the vet bills, feed, and care for all the hounds that come through WGW’s door, no matter how long they stay. The hounds are much loved but money is needed too. Please give what you can.

Bids on the items are invited up until 7pm on Monday 17th December 2018. Bids should be made via email to or directly to Carol at the WGW kennels (Burhill Kennels, Turners Lane, Hersham, KT12 4AW, Tel: 01932 251894) where a list of items is maintained.
