FOSTER REPORT – BUDDY

Personality

Buddy is the friendliest, sweetest boy. A complete cuddlebug, he is happiest when right by his people.

We feel he is extremely intelligent and quick learning. He mastered stairs in a few hours (much faster learner than our older girl), walked on wood floors and tiles, watched TV and wasn’t in the slightest bit fazed when meeting noisy things in the house like the hoover or hairdryer.

He is clean in the house (we used treats and praise and he was completely clean in 3 days), good around food (both his and yours), didn’t counter surf, steal or guard.

Out and about

Buddy walks beautifully on the lead, isn’t strong and doesn’t pull even when he sees something like a squirrel though he was extremely interested! He met some parakeets on a walk today and was really inquisitive.

He has met lots of different breeds of dogs whilst out and about and even attended a big charity greyhound walk at Christmas where he was a complete star and really enjoyed all the attention!

Buddy travels very well in the car and really enjoys outings and walks and has even been to the pub a couple of times. He gets on very well with my older greyhound girl and has been very gentle and respectful around her.

Confidence

Buddy is a calm and confident boy. With a bit of encouragement and walking out with our girl he has mastered his fear of walking past noisy cars and heavy traffic. On New Years night fireworks were going off outside the house and he wasn’t bothered by them at all.

Buddy was great meeting new people, he wasn’t tested with small children but was very good with my 11 year old stepson who came to visit a few times.

Energy levels

Not a complete greyhound couch potato, Buddy enjoys a good walk and loves playing with toys and brain games. We have been walking him twice a day and he seems happy with that.

Sleeping

Buddy settled very quickly really and now sleeps through the night, going out for a final wee at around 11 and up around 6.30-7am. He wasn’t crated and slept in his bed near us which I think was where he was most settled.

Buddy is lovely, fun boy who deserves the very best home where he will give so much love
